Drag and drop attachments onto messages

Drag and drop attachments onto messages: "Posted by Adam de Boor, Software Engineer

I'm always looking for ways to save time. Suppose I want to attach some files to an email, and I already have a folder open containing those files.

I used to have to click "Attach a file," find the photos, click them, etc. Starting today, if I'm using Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox 3.6, I can just drag and drop the files to attach them — easy as pie.

We'll enable this for other browsers as soon as they support this feature. For now, you can drag and drop attachments in Chrome and Firefox only.

Man Refuses Prize After Solving World's Most Complicated Math Problem

Man Refuses Prize After Solving World's Most Complicated Math Problem: "

This guy is so AWESOMELY insane!!

We LOVE it!!

A reclusive genius, Dr. Grigori Perelman, famously solved one of the world's most complicated math problems, the one-hundred-year-old Poincaré conjecture, and is now refusing to accept a $1 million prize from the Clay Mathematics Institute for doing so!

The 44 year old man apparently prefers to live in St. Petersburg, Russia with his mom and sister, and has been given the nickname Mathsputin.

HA!

According to neighbors:

'He always wears the same tatty coat and trousers. He never cuts his nails or beard. When he walks he simply stares at the ground, rather than looking from side to side.'

"I was once in his flat and I was astounded. He only has a table, a stool and a bed with a dirty mattress which was left by previous owners — alcoholics who sold the flat to him."

However, there's no denying this man is an effing genius! Perelman solved the Poincaré conjecture in 2002, and it took YEARS for experts to confirm he was correct!!

When reporters attempted to contact him, he responded, 'You are disturbing me. I am picking mushrooms.'

We are officially in love with this guy.

Damn the man, you do what you want, Grigori!!

"

Tada!!!! Surprise!!!

Google Envelopes, Beta Of Course

Google Envelopes, Beta Of Course: "

Designers Rahul Mahtani & Yofred Moik from the Industrial Design program at Syracuse University came up with this concept called Google Envelopes. Wouldn’t it be great to be able to map the course of mail and how it can tell a story? They came up with Google Envelopes, which can be sent through G-Mail itself. It’s only a concept, but totally viable and something people can immediately understand.

Holi 2010

Holi 2010: "
Last Monday (March 1st), people in India and other countries with large Hindu populations celebrated Holi, the Festival of Colors. A welcoming of Spring, Holi is celebrated as the triumph of good over evil. Hindu devotees and others enthusiastically drop their inhibitions, and chase each other in temples and through the streets, playfully splashing colorful paint, powder and water on each other. People also attend bonfires to commemorate the story of Prahlada, a Hindu figure and devout follower of Lord Vishnu who prevailed over his father and the demoness Holika with the power of his devotion. Collected here are a handful of images from this year's Festival of Colors. (37 photos total)
